Spring Has Sprung!

Today may be the first day of spring, but it’s not the first time I’ve talked about spring style!  This is a republish, because as I read it, I saw my 2021 radar was very similar to my 2024 radar. And, it’s just another piece of evidence in my long standing case to build a wardrobe with intention. 2024 notes in hot pink. All shopping links updated for 2024.

Spring Is In The Air

March is always the time of year I want to shop. The arrival of spring fashion and longer days always has me longing to add some new pieces to my wardrobe. I use my shopping strategies to stay on budget and reduce impulse purchases.

As always, STOP before you SHOP

Step 1: Pull out stored spring/summer clothing and edit. I always forget about a few things I store so this helps not buying something similar to anything I already own. It also tricks my brain into feeling like I got something new when it’s just been out of sight for a few months.

Step 2: Update wishlist. I recommend keeping a wishlist in your notes or a pinterest board. I find, when you have items you’re working or saving toward, it helps reduce impulse purchases and makes stalking them for sales easier.

My Current Wishlist:

  • Lilac everything! Well, at least lilac something. This color is everywhere and I’m all in. My favorite pairing is with camel or green. (still one of the hottest color for spring 2024)
  • Dresses/jumpsuits. I’ll be living in dresses once it warms up for the ultimate in effortless style. I need to pull out my stored clothes to see what I have from last year before diving in. I’ll probably add a bright color here. Denim/chambray, easy black cotton dress, and a fun color are on my list.
  • Stripes. My navy/white stripe top game is weak at the moment. Not sure what happened but I’ll be adding at least one items in this family. Want a boatneck option.
  • Sandals. I love what I’ll call a transitional sandal because your whole foot isn’t exposed. Perfect for this time of year when it’s still a little chilly and also fall when it’s still hot but you want to transition away from full summer sandals. Like a slide, mule or clog. A fun slide and femine footbed sandal.
  • Bright colors. I’m gravitating to bright colors for spring & summer.

Xoxo, Jess
